Flowers are nested directly atop the bushy mound of foliage and have a ring of yellow stamens. The foliage, the first of the peony type to emerge, is a shocking chartreuse-green, a welcome sight that heralds spring and the beginning of the peony growing season. The plant retains a vibrant, lively green colour throughout its growth. Foliage is extremely finely dissected and delicate in appearance, one that might deceive the uninitiated as to the plant’s peony identity. Plants form a low, bushy, impressive dwarf mound perfect for the front of borders and landscapes or rock gardens. Plant in a well draining, full sun location as plants detest wet, soggy conditions.
