A plant of tremendous historical significance, Yellow Dream is the result of Mr. Itoh?s cross that produced the first ever intersectional hybrids. Being amongst these four original Itoh plants, Yellow Dream is a plant that has great collector?s value. Reflecting Mr. Itoh?s breeding vision, Yellow Dream features bright yellow flowers, a colour previously only seen in tree peonies (and seen in tree peony parent Alice Harding) and beautiful gray-green tree peony type foliage. Flowers are nestled in amongst the foliage and plant habit tends more towards the herbaceous peonies, consistent with this first generation of Itoh hybrids. In a sad twist of fate, Mr. Itoh passed away before seeing the plants from his famous cross ever flower. We have the good fortune of being able to enjoy his landmark achievement in plant hybridizing, which is now celebrated by plant enthusiasts across the world. Rarely offered.
