An incredible and superior lactiflora variety, Peppermint proudly displays its unique and nostalgic peppermint candy striping for all to see. In a great many other varieties, occasional red flecks are seen as a footnote, or in the worst cases, an undesirable feature that dirties the bloom, but in Peppermint the deep raspberry-red striping is prominent, celebrated, and a flagship feature that is worn well. Each bloom features red streaking in the central petals, but it varies in distribution and strength, making each bloom unique. Peppermint?s flowers are well sculpted rose-doubles, neatly organized and opening in soft pink before fading to white. The exceptional flower is matched by the superb landscape qualities. Stems which are strong, straight, and do not require staking are well dressed in healthy, deep green foliage. Plants can produce a remarkable 3 – 4 side buds per stem. A Nicholls bred peony, known for the grandeur of their exhibition quality flowers. Side buds extend the blooming period.
