Another wonderful creation of Professor Saunders, Paladin stands amongst his great reds. Flowers are a glowing cerise red, semi-double in form and quite cupped in form, so much so that they closely resemble a double tulip- a very unique look! When the broad, incurved petals finally flex back they reveal dark pink, colour coordinated stigmas. Plants are short in stature standing 20 inches or under, making them excellent candidates for the front of the border. Paladin has a certain je ne sais quois about it and comes highly recommended. One flower per stem. Bred by Professor A.P. Saunders, highly regarded as one of the most important peony hybridizers.
