P. tenuifolia Rubra Plena
$89.00 (excl. tax)
A red, double flowering selection of P. tenuifolia which is most often associated with the fern leaf peony name. Flowers are nested directly atop the bushy mound of foliage. Buds have a velvety sheen to them and the adorable flowers, which are very close to a true red, have a phenomenal waxy gloss and are nicely rounded. The foliage, the first of the peony type to emerge, has an interesting red, coppery tone to it. Foliage is extremely finely dissected and delicate in appearance, one that might deceive the uninitiated as to the plant?s peony identity. Plants form a handsome, low, bushy, impressive dwarf mound perfect for the front of borders and landscapes or rock gardens. Plant in a well draining, full sun location as plants detest wet, soggy conditions. An excellent acquisition for collectors and those looking to extend their bloom season.
