Mock Orange Yellow
$85.00 (excl. tax)
A unique plant introduced by master Itoh hybridizer Donald Smith. Mock Orange Yellow?s semi-double flowers open in an orangey peach, and as they mature this colour clings tightly to the petal margins while central portions fade to a creamy yellow, producing a prominent orange picotee effect that is most distinct. A center of sparse stamens and non conspicuous sheathed carpels are perhaps what conjures the image of mock orange and gives this plant its name. Plants are strong growers that quickly form large, hemispherical bushes. Strong, rigid stems hold the flower upright under all conditions, as expected of an intersectional peony, and attractive, deep green Itoh type foliage results in a good looking plant all season long. Side buds extend the blooming period.
