A surprising and striking presence in the landscape due to the contrast of the massive flowers in proportion to the diminutive, semi-dwarf plant! The bomb-double flowers open in a rich, deep, cherry-pink and appear much larger than their 5 inch measurement because they are produced on plants short in stature, standing at 24 inches. Their impactful presence provides immense landscape utility near the front of the perennial border. The flowers exhibit one of the most spectacular fades in the peony world as the blooms bleach out to a very soft salmon-pink with colour pooling in the depths of the color. A plant displaying blooms in different stages is truly awe-inspiring. Mature flowers are extremely globular. Rigid stems are sufficient to keep the flowers upright. Produced by Roy Pehrson, an important figure in the peony hybridizing landscape. One flower per stem.
