A familiar colour combination, though no less attractive for it, in the Japanese-form peonies, but Mandarin’s Coat delivers it wrapped in a cute, petite package! Flowers are of Japanese form with deep rose-pink guard petals that house a central mass of same coloured staminodes that are gilded in gold. Staminodes are incurved, almost folded about the tip, giving the central puff a substantially weighty appearance. The unique charm and remarkable feature of this variety lies in the fact that it is a dwarf growing variety, diminutive in stature and of unique landscape application, standing at 18 inches tall. Place in the front of borders for a fuss free peony display. Strong stems and good cut flower. Side buds present that extend the blooming period. Good things come in small packages, and Mandarin’s coat is no exception!
