Largo sports large flowers with broad, medium pink guard petals that surround a central mass of staminodes that are touched with pink and edged in yellow – a very attractive colour combination. Flowers are pushed up and presented well above the foliage on capable stems. As a musical expression, largo denotes a piece that is to be played slowly, but the vigor of this plant is anything but. Perhaps a translation of “broad” or “wide” from Italian is a better fit for the large flowers. Plants are dependable and fast to increase with many side buds that contribute to a lengthy bloom time.
