Large, pale pink single blooms are anything but delicate as petals are actually of considerable substance, and are broad and held quite cupped, reluctant to reflex back. Josette’s flowers fade to white and are equally enchanting in their terminal phases, and the transformation is enjoyable to watch. Side buds are present that extend the bloom time and when they open in sync with the primary flowers the resulting combination is most pleasing and is sure to delight. Very rarely offered, this is a collector’s plant that represents a piece of Canadian peony history.
