Jean Ericksen
$38.00 (excl. tax)
A Canadian-bred Japanese-form peony with deep red to red-purple blooms that bring weight and richness to the midseason garden. At opening, the staminodes closely match the outer petals, creating a bold, unified look. As the flowers mature, the staminodes develop distinctive silver tips, adding contrast and interest as the bloom ages. Plants are vigorous and well structured, reaching about 38 inches with strong, upright stems that require no support. While each stem carries a single primary flower, numerous side buds extend the bloom period. With excellent substance and no pollen or seed production, the flowers hold a clean, finished appearance throughout their display.
WHY WE LOVE IT: Jean Ericksen combines strong stems, extended bloom from side buds, and evolving floral detail. Its Canadian origin and reliable garden performance make it a confident, well-rounded choice for midseason color.
