Breathtaking white blooms bear a striking resemblance to the gardenia flowers for which this variety is so aptly named. Exquisite in form, the resemblance to the gardenia flower is produced by large, rounded petals arranged symmetrically and equidistant resulting in a unique and highly refined double flower. Flowers open blush and mature to white with an ivory inner glow. Plants are vigorous, dependable and covered in colour due to the highly floriferous nature of this variety. Side buds are plentiful with several produced per stem, extending the bloom period. Stems are strong and do not require support in most situations.  The most widely grown of the Lins peonies, Gardenia is consistent with the uncompromising commitment to excellence that one would expect from his introductions.
