A masterpiece in colour, brought to us by hybridizer Samuel Wissing who labored for 27 years to bring his famous coral peonies, including Coral Sunset and Coral Sunset, into the world. As a suspected sister seedling to Coral Charm, the two varieties certainly have some characteristics in common. The colour of Coral Supreme is excellent and perhaps more salmon-pink than Charm. The cupped semi-double form is also outstanding and offers more fullness than its sibling. Plants are vigorous and stems are perhaps shorter and stronger than Charm, leading to a better performance in the landscape. This is all to say that Coral Supreme is unique enough that it is well worth growing alongside the other corals. A collector?s work is never done!
