A lovely plant that creates a stir in the landscape. Auguste Dessert draws the eye in with its beautiful silver tipped petals. The silver margins are narrow and well defined, almost as if painted on, making this plant stand out from other varieties that share a similar feature. Flowers are large, variable in form, a deep rose in colour, and produced in abundance on sufficiently strong stems. Petals are arranged with radial symmetry, and variability in form comes from a variable center that differs in levels in fullness, with petals loosely arranged and peeking through the stamens. The variance in fullness amongst flowers on the same plant combined with the silver tipping produces a great deal of visual interest. Some side buds present that extend the blooming period.
