Ada Niva draws viewers in with her enticing and unusual colour combination for a Japanese-form peony. Blooms are a splendid, rich wine-red burgundy and the central puff of staminodes are of the same colour and form a perfect dome subtly tipped with gold. Flowers are large and display the perfect amount of contrast to create interest but not to overpower. Plants show typical no-fuss qualities of well selected Japanese peonies – heavy bloom, upright flowers, and a good rate of increase. Side buds are present and extend the bloom period.
